Monarca

Custom kitchens · Puerto Vallarta

A custom kitchen from a real workshop — not a catalog.

Monarca is a family carpentry workshop in Puerto Vallarta with more than twenty years of craft, led by master carpenter Erik Valderas. We design, build and install kitchens, closets and custom furniture — measured for your actual walls, built in our own workshop in Las Juntas, and installed by the people who made them.

    Between big-box and big-ticket

Not a flat-pack module that ignores your walls, and not a 30,000-dollar European showroom either: honest custom work, quoted for your project and your materials.

  • 02

    English spoken, in writing too

Site, chat and conversations in English or Spanish — including the quote you sign. No "lost in translation" surprises halfway through.

    Your deposit, protected by process

Free consultation, video call and on-site measurements. You pay a 50% deposit only when you approve and sign the quote, and the balance on delivery. See the full process.

    A workshop you can visit

Our doors in Las Juntas are open Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 8 pm. Come see the machines, the wood and the projects in progress before you decide.

Built for the coast

Kitchens that survive Vallarta's climate.

Heat, humidity and salt air are brutal on furniture. A kitchen that works in Guadalajara can swell, delaminate and rust here. Whatever you buy — from us or anyone else — demand answers on four things:

  • 1

    Boards that tolerate humidity

Ask what board is being used and how it behaves with moisture — bargain particle board of the flat-pack kind is the first thing to swell in coastal kitchens.

  • 2

    Sealed edges, everywhere

Moisture enters through cut edges. Every edge should be sealed or banded — especially around the sink and dishwasher.

  • 3

    Hardware that resists corrosion

Hinges and slides near the sea should be specified for corrosion resistance, or you will be replacing them within a couple of years.

  • 4

    Ventilation in the design

Closed, unventilated cabinet interiors trap humidity. Good coastal design plans for airflow from the start.

Where is your home — beachfront, marina, or up the hill? It changes the right answer. We go through these four points with you during the video call and the on-site visit, for your specific location.
